Byline Bank: Introduction
The first thing you should know about this bank is actually its history and how it was created, and later you will learn how the Byline Bank online banking program works. This will help you evaluate whether to use the services of this bank at all.
The history of Byline Bank started back in 1978 when it was founded back in Chicago, Illinois. Actually, it was a so-called local bank, i.e. a bank that, unlike the big American banks (like Wells Fargo), could effectively provide its services in small towns and rural areas. In short, the services (and locations, too) of this bank were far more convenient for the locals.
At first, the bank was named as Metropolitan Bank Group and it has served customers in the Chicago metropolitan area. In 2009, however, the bank had certain financial problems and so it had to accept a loan worth $71.5 million from the Troubled Asset Relief Program, a government program that aimed to eliminate toxic assets from the market during the crisis. The bank had also been short of closure in 2013, yet avoided the fate after getting new investments. As a result, the bank was renamed into Byline Bank in 2015.
