Fifth Third Bank: Introduction
The origins of Fifth Third Bank can be traced to as early as 1858, when the Bank of the Ohio Valley was created. Just five years later, in 1863, The Third National Bank was founded. In 1871, both of these banks merged and formed a new bank. It was the year of 1908, however, when Fifth National Bank and Third National Bank merged, thus resulting in the creation of Fifth-Third National Bank of Cincinnati.
Nowadays, the bank remains headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, remaining to be one of the largest banks in this American state (as well as in the entire country). At the time of writing this article, the company was listed on 389th position in the Fortune 500 List. What is really great about Fifth Third Bank is that it has many ATMs and branches: 1,154 branches and 2,469 ATMs. The ATMs and branches are scattered across the following states: North Carolina, Georgia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
At the beginning of 2017, the net income of Fifth Third Bank was equal to $2.194 billion. During the last several years, Fifth Third Bank acquired such companies like Epic Insurance Solutions Agency, Integrity HR (a human resources company), Cooker Capital Advisors (an M&A consulting company), and MB Financial.
