First Harrison Bank: Introduction

First Harrison Bank appears to be a local, small-sized bank in Indiana. At the present time, it is the 19th-largest bank in Indiana and just the 964th-largest bank nationwide. With 18 locations in the American state of Indiana, it is quite a decent small bank with a robust online banking system and a good-quality customer service. Currently, it tends to be a subsidiary of the First Capital, Inc.

The bank is, however, able to boast some pretty impressive history, whereas it was founded back in 1891 as Savings and Loan Association of Corydon. In 1966, the bank changed its name to the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Corydon, which eventually was also renamed into First Federal Savings Bank.

In 2003, First Federal Savings Bank and Harrison County Bank merged, thus forming the First Harrison Bank. Later on, this bank acquired a number of other local financial institutions, such as Hometown National Bank and the People’s Bank of Bullitt County. Today, the bank has branches in the south of Indiana and in Bullitt County, Kentucky.

If you live in the state of Indiana, becoming a customer of this bank might turn out to be a good choice for you. Actually, your deposits at this bank will be insured by the FDIC. Additionally, it has the A financial health rating, which implies that the bank is quite safe.
